Apple's Nofitication Center has become pretty decent, and a lot of the nuisance I am suffering from several hundred pop-ups each day as the scanner picks up junk mail first on my hard disc as I receive it, then on my first real-time network backup, then on my remote-location second real-time network backup, could easily be controlled via the Notification Center.

I also do not like that the scanner uses its own threat notification system based on pop-up windows that cannot be controlled via the Notification Center. Rather than adding every file on my network to the exceptions list with the scanner just poking around just any odd location it can find, it would be nice if I could just select the drives I want to scan continuously (you know, my local hard drive, just one setting.?), or how about a little tickbox to ignore network drives.? My network has its own defences, and there really is just no need whatsoever for Virus Scanner Plus to scan it. I really wish there was a more positive control over where the scanner scans. I am not stupid enough to open any of those mails, so as far as I am concerned they can just sit in the junkmail folder until the system gets around to deleting them automatically after the safety time limit has expired. Yes, I should probably delete all those malicious emails the very moment they end up on my machine, but given the number I get, I'd be doing nothing else. I am saying that because I have also added my Junk Mail folder to that list, because I really do not care about threats being found in there, and yet again the scanner is just completely ignoring the setting. I have tried adding the network locations to the Exceptions list, but the scanner seems to more or less just ignore that list anyway. The scanner cannot be stopped from scanning my network drives, which is slowing down my entire network. Probably a good virus scanner, but the user interface has some very annoying flaws.
